Santander (Spain) - 12th to 14th of September 2008

Looking to get away from the city and spend some quality time on a beach, we headed to Santander, a seaside town on the north coast of Spain. We flew down on Friday night and managed to find a great tapas bar for dinner and some Vino. Despite some overcast weather on Saturday, we did a bit of walking around and had a bit of a snooze on the beach in the afternoon while the sun tried to come out.By Saturday night the weather was looking clear and we went back to our tapas bar (together with a few others) and partied with the locals until around 2.30am. A good effort in a country where your knowledge of the language doesn't go much further than "vino", "beera" and "gracias"!. This is what a Spanish Piaza looks like at 2am:
On Sunday the sun was out, and was a perfect temperature for sitting on the beach. And thats just what we did. All day in fact, until we had to get back to the airport for out 6.30pm flight back to London. A great, stress-free weekend!
