An early start on Saturday morning for a 4 hour bus ride southwest to Novgorod. Novgorod was the original capital of Russia, being the artistic and political centre for over 600 years. Today its a small town with not much to see other than a fantastic Kremlin of its own set on a great spot alongside the Volkhov River.
