Cordoba - 22nd to 23rd of July 2010

After a nice morning relaxing on the beach at Malaga, we got a one hour speedy train north to Cordoba. In the 10th century it was the biggest city in western Europe, famed for its three cultures coexistence between Muslims, Jews and Christians. Its main drawcard is its Mezquita (Mosque) founded in 785, with rows of red and white arches disappearing into the distance. In the 16th century after the Christians had taken over, they tore out the centre of the mosque and built a Christian cathedral, so there is now a red and white forest with a cathedral thrown in the middle. Bazaar, but shows how the city evolved over time.Having ticked off the main sight we wandered the streets and had a wine or two.
